How Reporting Harm Events Early Brings Faster Resolution Lowers Cost and Promotes Healing

By focusing on data for cases in which a harm event was reported early, the authors were able to determine that early reporting resulted in statistically significant decrease in the time between a case was asserted and when it was closed. There was also found to be a 25% decrease in average expenses when accounting for the variability of region, analysis year, case type, and clinical severity of the patient’s injuries.
