Cambridge, MA, October 1, 2015—After more than 15 years in Kendall Square, The Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions Incorporated (CRICO), will be moving its corporate offices to the Van Ness building in Boston the week of November 22nd. As the patient safety organization and medical professional liability insurer for the Harvard medical community, this strategic move will bring CRICO closer to many of its member organizations in the Longwood Medical Area, while maintaining convenient access to other member locations.

“Based on the increased infiltration of major biotech and Internet giants such as Google and Amazon to our neighborhood, we anticipated a major increase on our lease when it came up for renewal in 2016,” explains Mark Horgan, Chief Operating Officer for CRICO. “We realized we had a fiscal obligation to our shareholders to start a search for more affordable office space. I’m proud of the success of our team in signing a long-term lease as the first office tenant at this dynamic property near so many of our members.”

The move from Kendall Square in Cambridge to Boston’s Fenway neighborhood will present great opportunities for the 140 CRICO employees, as well as the members they serve. Taking advantage of the buildings’ natural light, the space has been thoughtfully designed to allow for optimal collaboration including extensive meeting and huddle spaces. CRICO’s President, Mark Reynolds said, “The move to this new location near the Longwood Medical Area will enable us to convene our providers onsite and foster communication around ways to improve care delivery and safety. We are all excited about the improved opportunities for collaboration.”
