Since 2013, MMIC has partnered with CRICO Strategies to gain insight into its risk vulnerabilities by analyzing its medical malpractice claims. Because of this partnership, MMIC's claims are coded using CRICO's taxonomy and are part of the Comparative Benchmarking System (CBS), which enables MMIC to benchmark against national peers. Trish Lugtu, BS, CPHIMS, Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics Solutions at MMIC says, “As a member [of CBS], we are able to benchmark our claims with peers across the country. It’s a valuable tool for helping us identify occurrences that fall outside of what we would normally expect.”
