An Evidence-based Intraoperative Communication Tool for Emergency General Surgery: A Pilot Study

Researchers of this CRICO-funded study developed and then piloted an evidence-based tool aimed at improving team communication in Emergency General Surgery.


The study concluded, “Use of a discussion-based communication tool is perceived as supporting team communication in the Emergency General Surgery operating room and led to a trend toward improving a shared understanding of intraoperative events.”
