Gretchen Ruoff serves as the Senior Program Director for Patient Safety Services for CRICO Strategies. She provides analytical and educational services to leading academic medical centers, community hospitals, physician practices and medical professional liability insurers on the issues of medical liability and patient safety initiatives. She also manages Strategies’ curriculum and programming around Disclosure & Apology following adverse events, and is responsible for directing and developing their Annual Comparative Benchmarking Report.

Ms. Ruoff joined Strategies after serving in a similar capacity for leading Academic Medical Centers and Community hospitals in Boston, as Program Director in CRICO’s Patient Safety department.  Prior to her tenure at CRICO, Ms. Ruoff acquired considerable experience in the hospital setting, having served for eight years as a patient advocate/conflict mediator at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.   Gretchen received a Bachelor’s from Bucknell University, and her Masters of Public Health, with a concentration in Law and Ethics from Boston University. She also holds a CPHRM certification.
